It's not a trend. It's what's left when the hurry lifts.

Hello Reader,

I noticed something on a Wednesday morning that I haven't been able to stop thinking about since.

I was out on the lanai, coffee in hand, and instead of already running through my list for the day, I just sat there. Watched the birds. Let ten minutes pass without once checking the clock. Old me would have called that wasted time. But it didn't feel wasted. It felt like relief.

That small moment turned into this week's post, which is really about something I think a lot of us are living without ever naming it. Not slow living as a trend, not the styled version with the linen napkins and the perfectly imperfect sourdough, but the real thing: the pace that shows up once the old urgency finally lifts.

Inside, I'm sharing what that actually looks like day to day, the old habits that still sneak back in when I least expect them, and a part I almost left out entirely: what it's like when the people around you don't quite understand the pace you've settled into. That one felt worth being honest about.

If you've noticed your own days shifting into something slower and wondered whether that's okay, I think this one's for you.

A Slow Living Lifestyle Isn't a Trend, It's What's Left When the Hurry Lifts

I've had some inquiries from thoughtful readers who asked me about my recent relocation to Florida from Michigan.

The journey was long but I arrived at my new home without any incidents or issues, and for that I am grateful. It took the moving truck about 10 days longer to arrive, so I spent some time 'glamping' with minimal furniture and household items.

But that didn't affect the beautiful lake and palm tree view outside my windows, and gave me some time to decompress and get ready for the delivery of my worldy goods, which took place yesterday.

It is a different mindset, knowing that my family is over a thousand miles away. But technology is a wonderful thing when a phone call, a video chat, and a text are readily available. And before I know it, I'll be planning a visit to see them all in person.

So for now I am unpacking boxes and bins, sipping on a cup of coffee, and watching the ducks, ibis, morehead hens, turtles, herons, and swaying palm trees (and a fair bit of rain at this time of year!) outside my window. 💗☕🌞

🔎 Calling All Detectives — Free Advance Copy Inside

I've been working on something new from my brand, Healthy Life Path, and I'd love your help putting it to the test.

Open & Shut: Case File Mysteries is a brand-new kind of activity book — instead of word searches or crosswords, you get a real case file for each mystery: witness statements, evidence, even a coded note or two. Your job? Read the clues and name the killer.

The first volume includes 8 cases that start out easy and get trickier as you go, and I'd love a few sharp-eyed readers to try them out before the official launch.

Interested in a free advance PDF copy? Just reply to this email to let me know, and I'll send it your way. In exchange, I'd just ask for your honest thoughts — what you enjoyed, what tripped you up, anything that felt too easy or too hard.

Thanks in advance for helping me get this one right before it goes out into the world!

That's all for this week, my friend. Stay safe, be well, pray for peace.

Hello Reader, I used to think looking put-together meant more — more pieces, more planning, more time I didn't actually have. Turns out it's the opposite. This week I'm sharing my actual go-to formula: the anchor piece I build every outfit around, my simple rule for color, why fit beats trend every time, and the one small finishing touch that pulls it all together without adding more effort to your morning. Spoiler: it's not about having more. It's about having the right few things, and...

Hello Reader, I want to tell you about something small I've been doing before bed that's made a bigger difference than I expected. For a long time, my evenings didn't slow down just because my days got quieter. If anything, I filled that open space with more- more projects, more ideas, more "just one more thing" before I finally turned off the lights. Sound familiar? Whether your evenings are full of a spouse's routine, grown kids who still find reasons to call after dinner, or a project you...
