The Small Habit That Finally Slowed My Evenings Down

Hello Reader,

I want to tell you about something small I've been doing before bed that's made a bigger difference than I expected.

For a long time, my evenings didn't slow down just because my days got quieter. If anything, I filled that open space with more- more projects, more ideas, more "just one more thing" before I finally turned off the lights.

Sound familiar?

Whether your evenings are full of a spouse's routine, grown kids who still find reasons to call after dinner, or a project you can't quite put down (I see you, fellow doers), most of us were never really taught how to close out a day well.

We got good at keeping things running for everyone else. Somewhere along the way, giving ourselves an actual ending got lost.

So I built one. Nothing fancy, no elaborate ritual, just a short, honest bridge between working too late and actually resting.

I'm sharing what that looks like in this post, along with a simple list you can borrow from if your own evenings could use a little more ease.

If you've been running on empty by the time your head hits the pillow, this one's for you.

I am creating content that will hopefully show up for online searches. These blog posts are written a little differently, more informative in nature, and I may not always highlight them in this newsletter or on social media.

It's just another way of creating content that will help answer the questions women in midlife are asking.

That's all for this week, my friend. Stay safe, be well, pray for peace.

Hello Reader, I used to think looking put-together meant more — more pieces, more planning, more time I didn't actually have. Turns out it's the opposite. This week I'm sharing my actual go-to formula: the anchor piece I build every outfit around, my simple rule for color, why fit beats trend every time, and the one small finishing touch that pulls it all together without adding more effort to your morning. Spoiler: it's not about having more. It's about having the right few things, and...

Hello Reader, I noticed something on a Wednesday morning that I haven't been able to stop thinking about since. I was out on the lanai, coffee in hand, and instead of already running through my list for the day, I just sat there. Watched the birds. Let ten minutes pass without once checking the clock. Old me would have called that wasted time. But it didn't feel wasted. It felt like relief. That small moment turned into this week's post, which is really about something I think a lot of us are...
